Who is responsible

This website is operated by Grant Lavell Whitmer III, Fort Ann, New York, United States. For anything on this page, write to [email protected].

What is collected

If you join the newsletter — your email address, plus the two-letter country code Cloudflare derives from your connection, and a note of which form you used. That is all. No name is asked for and no profile is built.

If you send a booking inquiry — your name, email address, organization (if you enter one), the engagement type you pick, and whatever you write in the message box.

If you book a session — the booking form is Windy Calendar, which is also Grant's own software, embedded in the page. What you type into it goes to that system and is covered by the same commitments as everything else here.

Everyone else — aggregate, non-identifying traffic statistics via Cloudflare Web Analytics: page views, referrer, browser family, country. It sets no cookie and does not fingerprint or track you across sites. There is no advertising pixel, no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no third-party tracker of any kind on this site.

Why

The newsletter address exists to send you the newsletter. The inquiry details exist so Grant can reply to you and keep track of a conversation you started. Traffic statistics exist so he knows which pages are worth improving. Nothing is used for automated decision-making or profiling.

For readers in the UK and EU: the lawful basis is your consent for the newsletter (withdrawable at any time by unsubscribing), and legitimate interest for replying to an inquiry you sent and for aggregate, cookie-free analytics.

Who else sees it

Three processors, and no one else:

• Cloudflare — hosting, the D1 database where records are stored, and analytics.
• Resend — sends the newsletter and delivers inquiry emails.
• Windy Calendar — Grant's own scheduling software, for bookings.

Your information is never sold, rented, bartered, or handed to advertisers. It is not shared with anyone else at all except where the law compels it. Data is stored in the United States.

How long it is kept

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, and the record is deleted on request. Inquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterward in case you come back — and, again, are deleted whenever you ask.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Email [email protected] and it will be handled — there is no form to fill in and no hoop to jump through. Every newsletter also carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which works immediately and permanently.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. You are welcome to, though it would be faster to just email and let it be fixed.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to keep the site online and defend it from attack. The administrative area at /admin, which only Grant and his team can reach, uses a session cookie for login.

Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Substantive changes affecting newsletter subscribers will be mentioned in the newsletter rather than quietly slipped in.
